As I’ve found my own style as an artist, I’ve grappled with the demand particularly placed on Asian women that I should sacrifice part of myself for the things I create. I tell stories with my body because I am my body and more. My body has loved other bodies. Brown bodies, yellow bodies, gay bodies, feminine bodies, manly bodies, stupid bodies.  My art and my body, the only things I own entirely, are not for your catharsis or consumption.That’s the truth of my experience.
